Stopped off a Vale Rec on the way home to catch the second half against Manzur. No goals but to be able to rock up and watch a game with no restrictions is a thing I should embrace. Set up the tripod using my car boot as a shield to keep dryish.

Herm, it’s where the heart lies with anyone raised in Guernsey. Summers in Herm are a dream and watching the storms roll past today made me miss it even more.

Queuing up for an ice cream seems like a distant memory now. This time last month the temperatures were heading into the 30’s. The thought of some nice warm bean jar and fresh bread is more appealing at the moment.

Inside the navigational marker, known as ‘The Pepper Pot’, or the ice cream cone as me and Jo used to call it. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside the snail shell layout but amazing views out to sea. The nicely pollarded tree helped with this one.

In my head I’d hoped the rain would die down a little this morning but it just got worse and worse. Just wasn’t meant to be today so I went and bought myself the Lego 1970 Dodge Charger to build.

The storm that didn’t really happen, even though it should have been devastating. It was almost as if we were in the eye of the storm for the entire day.

Stuck for ideas this morning so it seemed like a good time to revisit the fishing store at Saints Harbour. The red bricks compliment the morning sun perfectly, giving a warm orange glow inside.

Final day of September and it was pretty wet. I try to save the night shots for the winter when daylight is limited but I had to pull out a wildcard this evening.

The industrial north, one of the bigger ‘local centres’ that desperately needs redeveloping but always has the conveniences you need. Its a working harbour that has changed very little in my lifetime and no doubt won’t change much more in the near future.

No time to get out early before work at the moment so the best I can do is hover round the bedroom windows like a dog waiting for its owner to return home. An eyesore on the skyline but I try to find beauty around it.

I really had to push myself to trek all the way down to the Pine Forest this morning but so glad I did. Tried finding an alternative composition ten minutes around the coast towards St Martins Point but fell back on trying to improve on my last attempt of this group of pine trees.

I take my hat off to any open water swimmer but especially during the autumn and winter months. I know how good you feel when you’ve been in the sea but I’ll just have a sit down shower and pretend it’s tropical rain.

Crazy to think that only 11 days ago the temperature was peaking at 30°C, now the arctic winds make it feel like its about to snow. Right now its warmer in the sea than outside but there’s no chance you’ll get me out it this!

I didn’t expect too much from this evening and to honest I had a shot I liked from the fog this morning, but, the shadows from the groynes felt a little bit like a sun dial, tying in nicely with the equinox.

Most of us take these cows for granted but they’re actually quite rare on a global scale. I’ve tried milk throughout Europe and the USA and no country comes close to producing a finer milk than Guernsey. As soon as I’ve typed this I’m heading to the fridge to grab a nice ice cold glass of milk.
