The beautifully restored Catherine Best Mill in St Martin. I can only imagine how amazing the views are from inside the dome!

Never in my life have I been able to get close to a buzzard in the wild until today. Down a lane near Rocquaine, I spotted this buzzard perched in a tree. Wound down the window and slowly drove closer and closer until I was pretty much underneath it. The thing that scared it was an attack from another buzzard which came out of nowhere!

I gave up on my cliff adventure because I genuinely felt like I was putting myself in danger, mainly due to the 50mph+ winds and driving rain. Stopped off at the Bathing Pools on the way home to see this hero going for a casual snorkel round Havelet.

Keen as ever to make the most out of my day, this was the first port of call. Marble Bay taking a battering form the wind and the sea spray was pretty annoying. That said, a long exposure blended the scattered clouds nicely into pink streaks.

Italian Arum growing in a pile of wood chips with a little backlight poking through the trees illuminating the thick white veins on the leaf. Although this is far from the ‘natural’ colours, I got pretty bored of editing it so went to town on the sliders. Still not quite happy, like a kid scribbling with a crayon, I raced though experimenting with colours and split toning and abruptly stopped when I hit some fiery oranges.

With the winds picking up again, this was probably my last chance to grab a snap of this tree in all (of half) of it’s seasonal beauty.

The amazing and uninterrupted views from Jerbourg looking out towards Jersey and beyond. It felt like I was above the clouds looking down on the rain drifting across the channel.

A 50m superyacht designed by Dutch naval architects Hessen Yachts. Sleeps 12 with a crew of 10. Looking at the for sale sites, I wouldn’t expect you’d get any change from £15 million for this!

The latest prickly visitor to find it’s way into our garden, how, I still have no idea. I’ve found one small gap in the fence, possible big enough for a baby hog to squeeze though. He had ticks on his face so I took him to the GSPCA where I named him Jalfrezi, after my favourite cuisine!

Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!

Another frog re-homed from ‘death by cat claws’. Went outside last night to see the cat batting something against the wall in the dark which turned out to be this frog. Found it a suitable home and we went our separate ways.
