PART III

29.04.21

One last trip to Bluebell Woods before they wilt away for another year. Seems like the wild garlic has taken over a huge area again, hopefully the bluebells can hang on to their rightful home.

THE RUSH

25.04.21

After weeks of stunning calm days, the gales nearly put me off heading out this evening. But, I always have one eye up in sky just in case there’s some cloud worth freezing my arse off for.

GAME FACE

24.03.21

So proud of Alana, and the entire SMSM Tag Rugby teams. They smashed the tournament and although they didn’t win, they made the playoffs and made all of us smile with their efforts. Well done each and every one of you. For the parents, I managed to get plenty of photos of everyone. I will give them to school next week and they will be distributed from there.

Also for the record, I have photographic evidence of slide tackles from the opposition…not cool.

GRANDE HARVE

22.04.21

Many moons ago, this is where Guernsey was split into two separate islands. There’s still long stretches of the old sea wall visible heading inland along Vale Church and into the lanes. Ye Olde Guernsey, would have loved to go back few hundred years to see what it was like.

CANDIE GARDENS

21.04.21

The sun just keeps on shining at the moment. Whilst I love being out on days like this, it’s extremely limiting for dramatic scenic images. The good thing is it challenges you to explore new angles at the same time experimenting with the strong, intense light.

LE GOUFFRE

20.04.21

There’s definately a summery feel in the air and the coast is looking stunning. Give it a another month and we’ll all be heading out for beach days.

BLUEBELL WOODS

19.04.21

Whilst the middle of the woods is still looking bit thin, the edges seem to be taking a little quicker. Really disappointing to see so many trampled patches and new paths made though the middle. Seems like there’s still a selfish few who ruin it for everyone else.

MILKSHAKES

17.04.21

Alana had Grace round for a sleepover last night. Took them out for wander round town and to a place the kids love, Shake It 2 in the Arcade. I have to say they do some pretty good thick shakes!

BEFORE THE RAIN

12.04.21

Getting up before sunrise is now part of my daily routine, rain or shine, winter or summer. I find that watching the day unfold really helps get me motivated and productive. Some people run, some meditate. I earth watch.

BRUMATION

10.04.21

Trying to keep this one out of brumation is proving more difficult than I though. They can lie dormant for long periods over the winter, sometimes a few months but the general advice seems to be to avoid letting them do it in optimal controlled conditions. She still comes out most days for a run around to keep her active and healthy.
