The whole East Coast has some spectacular views across the channel, but there is something I really enjoy about the Pine Forest. Staring up at the huge pine trees, part of me feels like I've stepped back in time into a prehistoric forest.
I think we should introduce squirels to guernsey and let them make a home down there.
The weather was a little hazy this morning but the colour broke through for ten minutes to give a nice orange glow.

Today has been one of those 'anything goes' days. No plan, no inspiration and no energy. I drove around the lanes of St Saviour and this chicken appeared over a hedge :)

We really have been spoilt with the stunning winter weather recently. I think I'm going to miss the cold frosty mornings. It's probably the closest we will get to snow!

The clear skies continued overnight, leading to another stunning white frost across the island. I couldn't resist another trip to L'Ancresse to admire the beatiful landscape.

Yet another still, calm and frosty morning over St Peter Port. The only movement in the sheltered Quay was from the birds and the fishermen heading out for the day.

The bitterly cold temperatures this morning were floating around 0 degrees. The picturesque valleys were covered in a white sparkly layer of frost which made for very atmospheric landscape image.

Driving through the lanes of St Martin, you can't help but notice the small details of spring starting to emerge. The Snow Drops, also known as Stinking Onions, are starting to appear on the hedges and fields.

Back in the early 00's we used to head to L'Ancresse and stargaze with a few beers, with not a care in the world. Things are slightly different now but I still love to take an hour and just look up and wander what really is out there.
There were a few clouds blowing in with the icy breeze but I was happy with the overall composition of this shot. Photographing stars is always tricky, especially working with the light pollution almost anywhere you go in Guernsey, but finding a good foreground subject to fill the frame is the key.

In a sleep valley deep in the heart of Guernsey, lies Moulin de Quanteraine. The land is managed by the National Trust and contains a unique farm complex dating back to the 16th century.

A very damp and miserable day, I found myself just people watching for a while. This lady seemed to stand out for me, mayeb it was the way she was looking or the way she was dressed.
Either way, it summed up the day pretty well. My camera aslo got soaked again, still no faults!
