GUERNSEY LANTERN PARADE

84.365

Spark LED Drummers lead the parade through St Peter Port with a fantastic visual and sound display.

A fntastic, well organised and unique event which I think is one of the best from the Guernsey Arts Commission.

SPRING LAMBS III

83.36

Driving through the country lanes its hard to avoid the lambs popping up all over the island. This little dude was was struggling to keep warm in the cold Easterly winds.

ARCHITECTURE

We don't have any grand catherdrals but the Town Church is pretty close.  Fasacinating details when you really look.

FISH 'N' CHIPS

80.365

Classic British seaside cuisine.  Remember those hot summer days, grabbing a bag of chips and watching the sun go down with your back on the hot granite wall.  Coming soon to a parish near you!

PORT SOIF

79.365

One of Guernsey's most popular beaches in the warmer months, but a great place to watch the sun go down all year round.

SHELL BEACH

77.365

Fresh from the shores of Herm, which has been well maintained over the Winter.  We managed a 4km walk with Finley on my shoulders for most of it!

LAMB CHOPS

76.365

Went back to see the newest of the eight lambs today.  They remind me of puppy's, running around like loonatics and playign with sticks.  Cute to watch.

LE GOUFFRE

75.365

The long walk down to the almost impossible working harbour of Le Gouffre.  The sound of the fog horn in the distance and the crashing of the waves were quite theraputic.

COUNTRY LANES

Classic Guernsey scenes in the heart of rural Torteval.  Moeny may not grow on trees but it can be harvested from the fields!

FISHING QUAY AT NIGHT

73.365

After 803 days of non stop shooting its hard to come up with something new and fresh. Some days you just have to shoot, process, forget and move on.

HIGH AND DRY

72.365

Struggled to find a composition I liked for this one so I went with a low angle to give emphasis on the stunning colour in the sky just after the sun went down.

SAND DUNES

A boys afternoon trip to the dunes to test out the homemade sandboard.  Managed to grab a nice shot of Finley before he started eating the sand :)

SCUBA CAT

69.365

It's been an experimental few days trying to add something different to an otherwise dull scene, also forcing myself out of my comfort zone.

Curves and tonal adjustments are a great way to play with different effects.  Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't?  It's a never ending learning curve and tomorrow is another day...

PHEASANT IN THE FOG

67.365

Fog.  It's like Marmite!  I'm a lover not a hater so I ventured out for a pre-work stroll along the Icart headland searching for a photo opportunity.  I had a few ideas but as I was packing up next to my car I spotted three pheasants in the field opposite, very well camouflaged in the grass.

Again, my unsubtle approach of 'don't look them in the eye' didn't really work as they ran off seconds after this shot.  Focusing in dense fog seemed to be a little sketchy too.

RAINBOW HUNTER

65.365

I've seen dozens of rainbows in the last few weeks but always from the car window.  I took a gamble and 'camped out' up Le Guet for an hour in the hope that one would appear.  Sure enough a few half rainbows appeared.

It was quite a pleasant storm viewing spot as the rain missed me by a quite few miles.
