ORB WEAVER

Love them or hate them, there is probably one hiding in your house right now, waiting to make that great escape across the living room in front of the tv!

DUCK WEATHER

Its been a great day to be a duck and my lawn can maintain itself for another month!

ICHNEUMON WASP

272.365

Nicknamed the 'Stump Stabber' these parasitic wasps tap the wood with their antennae testing for hollows in the wood where grubs are burrowing.  They lay their eggs which will then feed on the grubs. Pretty cool!

GU97

271.365

More of a safety shot but the moment I looked out the window this morning I knew something special was going to happen.  I just had to get that sky in somehow.

SAINTS

270.365

Not much light to play with this evening but you have to work with what you've got and make the best of bad situation.  Great winter location to come back to.

ONE THOUSAND

269.365

Today marks the 1000th consecutive day of shooting since it all began on 1st January 2015.  Personally this is a big milestone for me as it’s something I remember thinking about years ago and never thought I would manage it.  I nearly gave up after three months!

The passion is definitely still there and I’m really looking forward to shooting in the Autumn and Winter months.  The atmospheric, cold and frosty mornings are a dream to work with.

I’m still undecided about what to do when this third 365 is over but I feel an LRPS disdinction is on the cards.

NB.  The image was shot at Le Gouffre shortly after sunrise.  I had to wait a little while for the sun to appear over Icart headland so the light is a tad stronger than I wanted.

THE BEACH

268.365

After a rather dull and murky day the low clouds cleared just before sunset and bathed the coast in golden light.

RISE

Standard Autumn morning in Town.  20 degrees in the middle of September, can't complain with that :)

LITTLE JUMPER

265.365

Deep down inside a pile of wood chips, lived a tiny Jumping Spider.

Pushing the limits of my macro set up with this one.  Hand help with a microscopic focus plane really did push my patience too!  These cute little spiders are literally smaller than a grain of rice.

BOAT YARD

264.365

There's something about rusty oil barrels that always catches my eye.  I really liked the neat arrangement and the position of the boat in this shot.  Photography defiantly brings out my OCD!

POWER OF RAW

263.365

I learnt a valuable lesson today.  Always check your metering before you shoot.  By default I always opt for Evaluative mtering but with a strong back-lit subject this dragonfly was almost a silhouette. Luckily for me the details were retained in the files.

TROLLS BRIDGE

Some days these two drive me mad.  They kick, they punch, they laugh, they cry,  but I'll always love them no matter what :)

MORNING GLORY

This is the spot I ventured down to a few weeks back.  The time seemed right to head back and see how the early sunlight would hit the cliffs.

JUPITER'S BEARD

Hawkmoth II

Like clockwork, the same Hawkmoth turned up at exactly the same time and location as it did a few weeks ago. Happier with the results this time as there is some depth between the flowers and the subject. The speed these moths move, you have seconds to compose.
