Lunchtime stroll out west to one of the islands most important conservation areas. An hour later in the day and the light would have been perfect!

The ever changing effects of the seasons and the sudden shifting tides makes this a great place all year round. A beach with many moods to play with. Legendary renaissance painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir painted 15 famous pieces down here during the late 1800's
In 19th century guidebooks, Moulin Huet was consistently singled out as one of Guernsey's finest attractions!

One of the great things about Guernsey is the ever changing weather. Fog just adds atmosphere and a mystery to an scene. Perfect photography weather, just wish I had more free time in the day!

St Saviour's church with some signs of spring emerging from the ground.

When the tides are out you can walk all the way across to Les Ammareurs Bay. FYI its exactly half a mile each way.

Never actually been down the ladder to this beach and the tides seemed to be in my favour. A few technical issues with spears on the filters from wiping away sea spray but it was to be out in the wild :)

St Peter Port's prominent lighthouse catching the glorious morning sunshine. The clouds overhead had their own ideas!

Good luck untangling that one!

A classic Guernsey scene at Vazon Bay.
The sands have receded, the winds are howling and the rain just won't give up but before you know it, the heatwaves will return and winter will be a distant memory.

With the midday sun placed perfectly south, I traveled the length of the island and waited for the perfect opportunity. Obsessively studying the weather patterns eventually pays off. Don't fight the weather, work with it but be prepared to run like you've never run before :)

5 shot vertical panoramic down the central nave of The Town Church. When a wide angle lens just isn't enough, use what you've got an make it wider!
14.01.18
The weather was stunning late afternoon, but the light was a little flat just before sunset. Experimenting with a black and white conversion to lift it back up again.

Where we're going, we don't need roads!

One of the many Golden Guernsey's raised at the Goat Farm in St Peter.

An updated version of the Val de Terres, similar to a shot from last year but I wanted to be a bit more adventurous with editing. Very basic curves and colour adjustments with a few minor tweaks on top.
10.01.18
Marble Bay, one of my most visited spots for obvious reasons but this morning was a bit of a gamble. Clear blue skies are normally a nightmare to work with but a few clouds rolled in at the right moment which helped an otherwise uninteresting sky. Almost had a teaser of spring today!

The newly refurbished chapel has been fitted with internal lighting which really lifts the atmosphere inside. Great job by everyone involved with the restoration project.

There's an abundance of birds around the island, but waiting for one particular bird to position itself where you want it just takes time and patience, and cold fingers.
You can almost guarantee a robin will spend most of its time around a particular patch of land. If you loose it, hang around for a while and it will return, probably watching closer than you think.

Other than an afternoon walk to the fairy ring, Sunday mainly consisted of films, food and doing absoultly nothing. Alana was happy writing notes to her teacher and composing a report on the recent storms :)
