For the first time since 2013, the island was coated in a fairly decent layer of snow. It was like Christmas all over again!

Amazing light rays poking through the clouds this morning behind the harbour cranes.

Sunday afternoon trek around the lanes of St Andrew's. Jude wand Alana were having a great time walking together. Love those shades :)

Great to see this event finally taking place in Guernsey. I only managed to see an hour late afternoon but really enjoyed it. You needed to be a bit adventurous on foot to find a good spot.
I knew from the start I didnt want to purely focus on the cars, it needed to a 'scene' from the event.

Pretty quiet afternoon if the quarry, the only movement was a few truck loads of aggregate and the seagulls making themselves heard.

My daily commute to and from work in St Martin, twice a day for the last 15 years! Some days I mix it up and go round the west coast :)

I almost ditched these shots because of the blown out highlights but I really liked the light over the rooftops and the way it catches the granite wall to the left.
5 shot vertical panoramic to maximize the sky, whilst still retaining the different terraced levels in the foreground that makes our town so unique. My ideal 'Postcard Guernsey' shot.

Finding insects other than flies at this time of year is extremely difficult. I scoured about an acre of land and eventually came across one ladybird taking in the midday sun.
Focus is a little soft on the eyes but I like the soft colors in this particular shot.

When the fog finally cleared!

Had a pretty small window with this one. The tide was crashing up against the pool, barely missing my camera. The seaweed gives you an idea of the of the challenge!

When 12 degress feels like summer, you know the recent weather must have been cold. So warm I even convinced Danni to trek to Moulin Huet for lunch!

The weather turned a little bit late afternoon and kind of ruined my plans for today so here is backup Plan B.

After waiting patiently for quite a while this pheasant clocked me when I thought it was safe to move closer and get my shot. The only image in focus of him running away into the marshy wetlands.
Nice to have a break from landscapes for a few days though, enjoying the challenge of finding something from nothing. Its how I remember the start of my adventures back in 2015.

With a total of 16 different light switches, I finally settled for the uplighters which were fitted with some pleasant coloured LED's.
A sensitive modern twist on a building over a thousand years old!

They call us Guernsey folk 'Donkeys' because of our stubborness (apparently) but after these donkeys had been out in last nights gales, I'd say its a symbol of strength and character :)

Its a beach that's grown on me over the years. I used to see an overwhelming maze or unsightly rocks with little to no interest but now I see a goldmine with hundreds of different compositions.
11.02.18
Plenty of low clouds around today producing some spectacular bursts of light in between.
10.02.18
Been a bit of lazy tv day for us but we did manage to get up to Delancey for an hour with the kids. You wouldn't believe how difficult it was to get this shot sharp with the g-force trying to throw me off the roundabout, plus 1/60th shutter!

The Inner Street Arcade in the centre of the Market Building.

Lovely golden light over the headland this morning, just so peaceful as well. Not as sole or a breath of wind.
