SPRING WALKERS

02.05.18

Vibrant flora line the paths forming tunnels of green and white high above Petit Bot.  The bird were singing and I didn't have a care in the world.

LIFE IN THE UNDERGROWTH

01.05.18

I knew exactly the shot I wanted, just had to find some fern in the shade with a tiny amount of light shining trhrough the tree canopy above.  Expose for the highlights and the background will appear much darker.

BLUEBELL TWIST

30.04.18

This years experimental bluebell macro.  Trying to isolate a bluebell at this time of year is more challenging than you think.

SAINTS BAY

29.04.18

The sun made a brief appearance this morning, still had to wrap up warm.  Loving all the thrift popping up at the moment.

PORTELET

28.04.18

Took a trip way out west this morning, hoping for a break in the rain.  I think I was feeling a little bit too optimistic about this one.  Never tried this bay at sunrise but I'm hoping to give it another go when the weather improves.  It just needs some early mornign sunlight in from the side to give it a lift.

LA VALETTE

27.04.18

Although I never see them as wasted trips, there was a sense of disappointment after leaving my cosy warm bed this morning.  There was a thin strip of clear sky on the horizon which annoyingly closed up right before sunrise.

COUNTRY LANES

26.04.18

Out of the wind it felt like summer walking around the Le Bigard this afternoon.  Plenty of tourists navigating their maps trying to figure out where the roads will lead!

ABOVE AND BEYOND

25.04.18

One of the great things about photography is the adventures it take you on.  I've walked these paths to the Pine Forest many times but never really appreciated them in spring.

TWILIGHT

23.04.18

Struggled to get some motivation today.  Covered a fair few miles on the cliffs scouting locations but this is one of the last shots I took today.

THE KIDS

23.04.18

Making the most of what mother nature has thrown together in the form of bluebells and fresh green leaves.  perfect time of the year for some colourful, vibrant family portraits.

COBO HIGHWAY

21.04.18

We've been spoilt with sunshine for nearly a week now.  Not seeing a cloud for days has made me realise how much of a cloud geek I really am.  Spend at least an hour today just admiring the formations!

The road marking had been freshly painted minutes before this shot (hence the cones).

BLUEBELL WOODS I

20.04.18

Early morning adventures into the stunning Bluebell Woods.  Getting the light right was key for me.  I've tried numerous combinations over the last few years but this is one of my favourites.

THE BEAUTIFUL SOUTH

20.04.18

Another day in paradise!  Trying to capture the recent good weather is one image is really difficult with so many places looking stunning at this time of year.

The light in bluebell woods was a bit too harsh so I opted for a classic clifftop scene, heading down to Le Gouffre.  Plenty of colourful bugs spotted along the way too :)

TURNSTONE II

19.04.18

Talking to a fisherman this morning who informed me that these Turnstones will shortly migrate 1200 miles to the Icelandic shores for the summer.  Now that is an incredible journey for such a small bird!

THE NUMBERS

17.04.18

Some pretty impressive waves along the coast tonight.  I know it's nice to see the sun shining all day but it makes the sky so bland and lifeless.  First world problems!

FISHING QUAY

16.04.18

Lovely diffused light over the Quay this evening.  Making use of the recycled washing machine drums for some foreground interest and those clouds had a electric storm effect going on.

DUNES

15.04.18

The sun was out but looks can be deceiving.  The wind pickied up and the sea was kicking off.  A little reminder that it's not quite shorts a t-shirt weather yet!

MS QUEEN ELIZABETH

14.04.18

The first of the cruise liner visits for 2018 holding just over 2000 passengers.  very atmospheric conditions on the water, just slightly disappointed the ship didn't arrive an hour earlier to catch the sun coming up over Herm.

CALL OF THE WILD

13.04.18

Although I don't stop, sometimes I take a mental break and make life easy by shooting familiar things and experiment with different editing styles.  I've got loads of ideas for upcoming shoots but they all need to be carefully planned over the next month.  Saumarez Manor is minutes way from my work which meant I had an hour to just observe, slow down and enjoy taking pictures.
