One they don't want you to see in the travel brochures but the end of an era for us Guerns. Image all of the lost valuables accidentally thrown away that are now buried forever under millions of tons of waste!

Saturday morning down Saints Bay (again) but this time my focus was on the details of the landscape armed with a 50mm and some filters.
The sun just started to rise over the Jerbourg headland lighting up the cliff face and the underside of the clouds. Really helped lift the photo in my eyes.

Quick grab shot form this morning before heading off to work.
06.09.18
The outskirts of the urban heart of Guernsey, leading down to the east coast. Not quite the sandy beaches of the west but full of character and charm.
05.09.18
Swung past Rue des Bergers on the way back to work, hoping that I'd get a Kingfisher sighting. No Kingfisher but a Grey Heron well off in the distance wading around.
04.09.18
Went searching for some smaller details and spotted a random lock slowly rusting away in the wall. 10 points for guessing where it is!
03.09.18
Nothing much happening in the skies this morning so I turned my attention to a place I feel I know like the back of my hand. It's a bad habbit always turning to a safety shot so often but when you've been on it for nearly 4 years, every day, it really doesn't matter. I just see it as gentle practice! 1341 days down, 111 to go...
02.09.18
Sunday morning watching the fishermen head off into the distance for the daily catch. Spent the rest of my day building sand castles and swimming in the sea. 5th sunniest summer on record apparently!
01.09.18
Beautiful calm and hazy morning out on the west coast. Autumn may be here but Guernsey still has plenty more to give this year!
31.08.18
Last day of my two weeks off with the kids before they head back to school next week. It's been a stunner to say its the meteorological autumn tomorrow!
30.08.18
The cream of the crop. To be a Golden Guernsey you need to be perfect. As i found out today, even the slightest imperfection in fur colour will decide your fate.

Technical flaws aside, I just had to pull over and grab this shot. I've tried numerous times of day and weather with this field and this was sort of how I always had it in my mind. Lots of retouching with distracting flare across the lens, something I'm always in two minds about.
28.08.18
Went for a walk around Saumarez Manor and noticed a few rats feeding on the leftover seed by the duck pond. Scared them off at first but sat patiently for 30 minutes and they returned for the main course.
27.08.18
My hangover got the better of me today. Damn you tasty rum! I could barely face lifting up the camera let alone leaving the house.
26.08.18
With high winds on the way the fishing quay was very quiet this morning. Perfect opportunity to explore the area in relative peace.
25.08.18
Felt very autumnal this morning. Low cloud hanging around with a chilly Atlantic breeze from the west. Might have to put the shorts away till the spring!
24.08.18
Early morning down by the Port of Dinan. An extremely busy tourist hotspot by day so I chose to see it again in the early hours of the morning to avoid the crowds.
23.08.18
Final full day in France, exploring the walled city of Dinan. Danni and the kids were trying to 'avoid the lava' in the cobbles!
22.08.18
With hundreds of miles of La Rance to explore, trying to frame it in one image is difficult. This is the picturesque bridge crossing from Lanvalley to Lehon.
21.08.18
A stunning former monastery located in the town of Lehon, a few miles down in the valley from where we were staying.
