Drawing closer to the shortest day of the year and this is the coldest it’s felt since the beast from the east dumped it’s load over us!

Stunning light display over St Peter Port this morning. In a panic to get somewhere I defaulted to Arcade Steps, not because it’s an easy shot but because it just offered the perfect views to watch the magic happen. Although a little less intense, the sky was like this for well over an hour before sunrise!

I needed one last crack at Petit Port before the year is up. The sun sits so low for the last few hours of the day and with the scene changing by the minute, your’e spoiled for choices.

The west coast taking the full force of the 50mph winds and squally showers. With weather like this you always need to keep one eye on whats happening behind. Mother Nature waits for nobody!

Starting to feel very festive in St Peter Port now the lights are back. I’ve always thought that the lights in the Old Quarter are much much better than the High Street!

Not everyday you get to hold one of these bad boys. I could actually feel little pin pricks form it’s tiny claws gripping my hand! Half expected it to have a little nibble on my finger.
The name comes from a skull like pattern on it’s head.

After yesterday’s adventures, today was like a slap in the face until it stopped raining on my way home. Saying that, shooting at night is great because the light doesn’t really change giving you more time to slow down.
