Part of Guernsey’s only 5* hotel, the OGH is the closest you’ll get to the Ritz on the rock.

The Guernsey equivalent, in no way as extreme as some places on earth but when it rains, it rains hard. All this extreme weather comes with some stunning rewards.

Autumn finally settling in and it was only a matter of time before a rainbow appeared. As soon as this rain cloud rolled in I knew where I had to be.

One of the advantages of this hobby is the amount of walking involved to get to the places I love. No one ever said it would be easy but these eyes have seen Guernsey in pretty much every way I had always imagined. Sun, rain, cloud, gales, snow, thunder, you name it, I’ve experienced it. I almost feel like I’ve completed an RPG game that’s taken 5 years to complete! The final boss is winter…

After wearing out the shutter, I finally got my old dslr fixed which I used to love using for macro. The body and APSC lenses are super lightweight which really helps in handheld situations. Point is, the expensive gear isn’t necessarily the best in all situations.

There’s been a mill on this site since the mid 1300’s with water flowing through from ancient streams along Talbot Valley. Recently overhauled and rebuilt by it’s owners it can easily generate and power a small house.

The stunning National Trust land tucked away in Quanteraine Valley. The waterwheel was being repaired but it turned my attention to the charm and character of the old Guernsey cottages. This cottage is over 150 years old, built in 1866!

The iconic L’Ancresse Loophole Tower No.5. I’ve waited over a year for the right moment to get this shot. I wanted high clouds for the pinks and the ferns and grasses needed to be a golden brown to work. Think this was the right moment for me!
