THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

15.02.18

After waiting patiently for quite a while this pheasant clocked me when I thought it was safe to move closer and get my shot.  The only image in focus of him running away into the marshy wetlands.

Nice to have a break from landscapes for a few days though, enjoying the challenge of finding something from nothing.  Its how I remember the start of my adventures back in 2015.

ST MICHEL DU VALLE

14.02.18

With a total of 16 different light switches, I finally settled for the uplighters which were fitted with some pleasant coloured LED's.

A sensitive modern twist on a building over a thousand years old!

RURAL GUERNSEY

13.02.18

They call us Guernsey folk 'Donkeys' because of our stubborness (apparently) but after these donkeys had been out in last nights gales, I'd say its a symbol of strength and character :)

MOULIN HUET II

12.02.18

Its a beach that's grown on me over the years.  I used to see an overwhelming maze or unsightly rocks with little to no interest but now I see a goldmine with hundreds of different compositions.

PARK LIFE

10.02.18

Been a bit of lazy tv day for us but we did manage to get up to Delancey for an hour with the kids.  You wouldn't believe how difficult it was to get this shot sharp with the g-force trying to throw me off the roundabout, plus 1/60th shutter!

RICHMOND KIOSK

06.02.18

Guernsey's answer to the motorway services!

A shot I've attempted a few times before and failed miserably but this morning I couldn't have asked for better light.  I did have to ask someone politely to move their car which didn't go down too well.  If you don't ask you don't get!

ARCTIC BREEZE

05.02.18

Nightfall over St Peter Port on an almost snowy day.  Bitterly cold again but I think the wind direction complemented the cloud movement quite well.

ZENITH

04.02.18

Cold feet, cold hands, cold head but so worth standing around for. Easterly winds aligned the boats perfectly to the setting sun. Those clouds though!

LIHOU PRIORY

03.02.18

Over 800 years old, the Benedictine Priory on Lihou island now lies in ruins but would once have been residence to a small community of Monks and their servants.

I wanted to try a shot with the spine wall running though the island but the tides were about to cover the only path back!

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS

31.01.18

I spotted about 20 chickens in a field, as soon as I stopped my car they all came running over to me with their crazy waddle.  This guy seemed to be the leader :)

MIRRORED

30.01.18

The sunrise that didn't quite happen, but for a breif moment the wind dropped to 2mph and the model yacht pond produced a perfect mirror image.

FORT PEMBROKE

28.01.18

The best I could do with the flat light this morning.  Still a  bit of detail and colour in the clouds but this needs another attemot with better light.

BORDEAUX HARBOUR

27.01.18

Bordeaux is always a good shout and this morning did not disappoint!  The rain was gently falling overhead, but it all added together to create some gorgeous colours in the sky.
