There's something about sunflowers that really makes everything feel good and you know that summer is in full swing.

Spent a little time wandering around Candie Gardens and stumbled across this hornet hoverfly. Mimiciing the more dangerous stinging hornet, aparently it's one of the largest flies in Britain!

The mesmerizing tunnels of the Underground Hospital. Always good for a rainy day adventure.

Finally got to test out my new kite today. My face was as happy as the print on the kite itself. I did let Alana have a quick go :)

Herm Harbour and Fisherman's beach looking stunning as always #theresnoplacelikeherm

A class winning junior bull at The Royal Guernsey Agricultural & Horticultural show. A great little event for Guernsey but I did wish I'd opted for a swim in sea instead!

Last minute 'grab shot' after spending an hour on the beach with Finley. Today's schoolboy error was not checking my focus after an earlier shot from a different area.
24.07.18
One of my favourite places to photograph, especially in the summer when the sun is so far north.

This is what Guernsey summers are all about. Being outdoors, enjoying the sunshine and just spending a little more time appreciating our surroundings.

Couldn't deal with the crowds in town so we headed to Saints Bay for a swim, followed by a well deserved ice cream at OJ's Cafe.
Loving my sea swimming at the moment, I've even studied Alana's swimming lessons to refine my strokes.

Kids in tow, we headed to Grandes Rocques to make the most of the long summer evenings. Always nice to watch the sunset with your kids, even if they don't really care as much as I do.

Nearly gave up all hope on my trek this morning but sure enough the sun started to appear with a dramatic burst of light. Couldn't go home empty handed!

Basically a giant artichoke thistle from the sunflower family.
18.07.18
Another reason why I'm proud to call this my home. Petit Port, Moulin Huet and Saints Bay Harbour, from the Jerbourg headland. The south coast really is stunning to admire.

The only way I can describe how stunning the sky was this morning! The skies were clear when I arrived but soon spread across to the east and the end result was breathtaking.

One of those bays that doesn't really invite you in for a swim, but still a great spot to watch the sun go down. Also a welcome return for the clouds, adding that splash of colour that's been lacking in the clear skies recently.

Our little boy turned four years young today. Such a sweet little boy, and we all love him to bits. Thanks to everyone who came and made it so special for him.

Stunning blanket of mist rolling across the common this morning.
13.07.18
Town was heaving today, with over 3000 visitors from the cruise ship along with hundreds of hungry workers marching the streets. Felt like a human ants nest.

I absolutely love Guernsey in the summer but I realised a few years ago that the winter is definately my favourite season to photograph. I miss the unpreductable weather, the powerful burst of sunlight poking through the stormy clouds and the south coast is a haven for landscape.
