The cream of the crop. To be a Golden Guernsey you need to be perfect. As i found out today, even the slightest imperfection in fur colour will decide your fate.

Technical flaws aside, I just had to pull over and grab this shot. I've tried numerous times of day and weather with this field and this was sort of how I always had it in my mind. Lots of retouching with distracting flare across the lens, something I'm always in two minds about.

Went for a walk around Saumarez Manor and noticed a few rats feeding on the leftover seed by the duck pond. Scared them off at first but sat patiently for 30 minutes and they returned for the main course.

My hangover got the better of me today. Damn you tasty rum! I could barely face lifting up the camera let alone leaving the house.

With high winds on the way the fishing quay was very quiet this morning. Perfect opportunity to explore the area in relative peace.
25.08.18
Felt very autumnal this morning. Low cloud hanging around with a chilly Atlantic breeze from the west. Might have to put the shorts away till the spring!

Early morning down by the Port of Dinan. An extremely busy tourist hotspot by day so I chose to see it again in the early hours of the morning to avoid the crowds.
23.08.18
Final full day in France, exploring the walled city of Dinan. Danni and the kids were trying to 'avoid the lava' in the cobbles!

With hundreds of miles of La Rance to explore, trying to frame it in one image is difficult. This is the picturesque bridge crossing from Lanvalley to Lehon.
21.08.18
A stunning former monastery located in the town of Lehon, a few miles down in the valley from where we were staying.

We met up with the Jagers for a day in sunny Lambelle. Lovely lunch in the town followed by a visit to a local petting zoo. These are our crazy children :)

Captive falcon within the Zoo de la Bourbansais, a fantastic conservation park in stunning settings. One of the nicest zoo's I've visited in Europe. Well worth a visit if your'e visiting France any time soon.

One of the many small harbours dotted around the island. Never actually seen any boats dock but it's a great place for swimming and diving off.
17.08.18
One of the many beaches I spent my summer holidays as kid. Probably over 20 years ago a small me would have been jumping off this pier with not a care in the world (obviously with the tide slightly higher).

Technically it's still summer for a little while yet but sometimes you just cant help notice the thin layer of golden leaves starting to form on the ground.

Took the afternoon off work to head to the West Show. Plenty to see and do including the mower racing championships. It does not look easy and there were plenty of flying mower moments to add to the adrenaline!

Just over a year later, a rework of the Marble Bay Cave with the sun a little further south. Very little color in the sky but the sun did shine through briefly. In the ideal world I should have waited another week or two to get the suns starburst on the edge of the rock face. Live and learn!

Went to visit my fuzzy pot bellied friends today. Watching them eat felt like being at home watching the kids eat their meals!
12.08.18
The four of us braved the elements with a wet and windy stroll around Lihou Island. I finally got to put my new jacket and walking boots through a full test and I was bone dry!
11.08.18
With minutes to spare and barely enough time to grab a drink, I rushed out the door to catch the morning skies light up. Literally 2-3 minutes of sunlight and then it disappeared for most of the day!
